trauma ray Share KEXP Live Session Featuring “Hannibal” and Three More Songs
Texas shoegaze band trauma ray has released a new live session recorded for KEXP.
Formed in 2018 in Fort Worth, Texas, the five-piece consists of Uriel Avila (Gt/Vo), Jonathan Perez (Gt), Darren Baun (Ba), Coleman Pruitt (Gt), and Nick Bobotas (Dr). Drawing influence from Hum, Deftones, and Slowdive, the band has built a sound that balances crushing heaviness with a soaring sense of atmosphere.
The session features four songs in total: “Chameleon” and “Bishop” from their debut album Chameleon, alongside “Hannibal” and “Clown” from their latest EP Carnival. The performance showcases the band's dynamic interplay between quiet, atmospheric passages and explosive walls of sound.
The accompanying interview also features the band talking about how trauma ray came together and some of their favorite artists.
Earlier this year, trauma ray embarked on a co-headlining tour with Glixen. Later this year, they will join Turnover's North American tour alongside Nothing as support.
