Chikafuji Lisa Shares Video for New Single “crash.”, Announces “Nightmare Underground” Live Event and EP Release
Chikafuji Lisa has unveiled the music video for her new single “crash.”.
Active since 2021, Chikafuji Lisa is a VTuber and VSinger known for her gothic aesthetic and music rooted in shoegaze and alternative rock. Built around the concept of a nightmare-wielding sheep incarnation, she has cultivated a unique presence that bridges virtual and independent music communities. Through her Twitch music review streams, she has demonstrated a deep appreciation for shoegaze, grunge, and alternative rock artists including SoulBlind and Fleshwater. She also actively engages with the indie scene through her interview series “Shear Noise,” which has featured conversations with Hotline TNT, Enola, and Meishi Smile.
As a VSinger, Lisa has released cover versions of songs by artists such as Deftones and Wisp. In 2025, she unveiled her first original single, “Sound Asleep,” which attracted attention beyond the VTuber community and helped establish her presence as a solo artist.
Its follow-up, “Everglow,” introduced a darker atmosphere and showcased her use of screamed vocals, revealing another dimension of her artistry.
Her latest single, “crash.”, pairs heavy, melancholic instrumentation with emotionally charged vocals, recalling the 2000s alternative rock sound of bands such as Evanescence and Paramore. The track also reflects the nightmare-like atmosphere that has become central to Chikafuji Lisa’s artistic identity.
Lyrically, “crash.” explores a dangerous attraction toward collapse and self-destruction, repeatedly asking, “why do i crave the crash / repeat it all again.” At the same time, lines such as “just gotta hold on / hold out a little longer” suggest a determination to endure despite those internal struggles.
The accompanying video features a glitch-covered Lisa standing in the middle of Shibuya’s famous scramble crossing. Blurring the boundaries between 2D and 3D, reality and virtuality, the visuals reinforce the song’s themes of loneliness, alienation, and the instability that often accompanies life in the digital age.
On July 5, 2026, Chikafuji Lisa will host “Nightmare Underground” at The Paramount in Los Angeles. The event will coincide with the release of “Nightmare Underground,” which is currently available for pre-order through her official store. Exclusive merchandise produced specifically for the event will also be available in limited quantities.
