The second album from Texas electronic shoegaze band Nuclear Daisies.

Formed around former Temple of Angels member Rob Glynn alongside Ringo Deathstarr’s Alex Gehring and Robby Williams, the band takes its name from images of plant life recovering after the Fukushima reactor melted down, describing their sound as “the rave at the end of time.” While their previous record leaned heavily into kaleidoscopic psychedelia driven by MBV-sized walls of guitar noise and electronic beats, this album shifts the balance. The twin vocals remain beautifully intertwined, but the overwhelming guitars step slightly back as the rhythmic and beat-oriented side of the band comes further into focus.

One of the album’s strongest moments arrives in the transition from the drum & bass rush of #7 “Doves” into the downtempo tracks that follow. Heavy low-end grooves and shamanic textures create a deeply meditative atmosphere, fully embodying the apocalyptic worldview the band has long pursued. Rather than simply extending the previous album’s formula, Nuclear Daisies reinforce repetitive rhythms and bass-driven movement, pushing beyond the boundaries of shoegaze and evolving into something far more physical and dance-oriented.

In interviews, the band has also expressed interest in performing in Japan, making them a project worth watching closely.
