Debut EP from Yokohama-based four-piece shoegaze/slowcore/alternative band herveil.

According to their label, the lineup includes members of Florence and Acle, active in Yokohama’s punk, emo, and hardcore scenes.

Their greatest strength lies in the combination of melancholic melodies and heavy guitars. The slow tempos, drawn from post-rock and slowcore, create an almost sinking-into-the-sea sensation. Lead vocalist Moeha’s solemn, almost celestial delivery adds a beautiful contrast—the deeper the darkness (heaviness), the brighter the light (vocals) shines.

Having seen them live several times, I was struck by the dynamism generated through contrasts of stillness and motion, light and dark. I hope they continue to nurture this unique identity.

As a side note, our site’s key visual was inspired by fan art of track #4, “Purple”—their music played a part in the site’s creation.
