Cold Gawd Announce New EP “Glory2,” Unveil “Grease” Music Video
Cold Gawd have announced their new EP, “Glory2,” due out on August 28 via Dais Records.
The California shoegaze band has also shared the official music video for the lead single, “Grease.”
Known for blending crushing distortion with dreamy soundscapes, Cold Gawd continue to evolve the sound they established on “God Get Me The Fuck Out of Here” (2022) and “I'll Drown On This Earth” (2024), ushering in a new chapter for the band.
Featuring six tracks, “Glory2” looks beyond the experience of touring to explore the frustration and deep longing that stem from distance. While rooted in shoegaze, the EP expands the band's sonic palette with influences ranging from Beach House and DIIV to BROCKHAMPTON and Tigers Jaw.
Lead single “Grease” captures the struggle to keep moving forward in search of stability. Driving rhythms, panoramic guitars, and Wainwright's signature hazy vocals build toward explosive bursts of screaming, creating a powerful contrast between melody and intensity. Even after the exhaustion of relentless touring, the track proves that Cold Gawd have lost none of their explosive edge.
Produced by Max Mercier, the EP features contributions from Brandon Aviles (guitar, production), Cameron Fonacier (drums), and Cameron "Duck" Burris (bass, vocals), making “Glory2” the band's most collaborative effort to date.
