Bubble Tea and Cigarettes Release Debut Acoustic EP "bluebook" and Share “bluebird” Video
Seattle dream pop duo Bubble Tea and Cigarettes have released their debut acoustic EP, "bluebook."
The EP features two tracks, “seventeen little stars” and “bluebird.” Alongside the release, the duo shared the official music video for “bluebird,” directed and illustrated by Kat. Shot on 8mm film and edited by the band themselves, the video reflects the intimate nature of the project. According to the duo, the two songs were conceived as a pair, describing them as "a confession between lovers" that was always meant to be experienced together.
“bluebird” unfolds around gentle acoustic guitar and softly enveloping textures, with the duo’s delicate vocals blending seamlessly throughout. Its dreamlike soundscape complements lyrics that trace images of winter, tears, dreams, warmth, and emotional renewal. The accompanying video layers hand-drawn line animation over softly blurred winter scenery captured on film, culminating in a poignant closing scene of tears falling in the darkness that leaves a lasting emotional impression.
