Whirr & Luster Announce Split EP Split, Share Details of September Release Shows
Whirr and Luster have announced their split EP, Split, due out on September 18 via Free Whirl Records. The release will be available on 12-inch vinyl, CD, and digital formats.
The EP marks the first split release between Whirr—one of the defining names in modern shoegaze—and Luster, one of the genre's most promising new acts. Featuring two brand-new tracks from each band, the release also highlights the long-standing connection between the two, with Whirr's Nick Bassett having produced and mixed much of Luster's previous recorded output.
To celebrate the release, Whirr and Luster will play two release shows this September. The performances will be Whirr's only U.S. shows of 2026, with each night featuring a unique setlist that includes rare songs and live debuts.
