Oeil Release New Single “Electric Dreams” from Upcoming Album, Alongside Music Video
Tokyo-based dream pop / shoegaze duo Oeil have released the advance single “Electric Dreams” from their upcoming album, alongside its official music video.
Oeil are a Tokyo-based duo rooted in indie rock, alternative rock, and shoegaze. Their album “Urban Twilight” was selected as the only Japanese entry in the UK cultural media Far Out Magazine’s feature “The 50 Best Shoegaze Albums of All Time,” earning them recognition from a global audience.
“Electric Dreams” marks a new phase for the duo following their 2025 album “Dream within a Dream.”
Retaining their signature ethereal, dreamlike sound, the track incorporates elements of ’90s alternative rock and industrial music, resulting in a solid, textured finish reminiscent of CURVE.
The music video, released simultaneously with the single, opens with a symbolic scene of sheep running through a dreamlike space. Regarding the concept behind the track and visuals, the band comments:
“Thoughts transcend time. Across space and time, I would be happy if we could share with listeners a feeling in which only consciousness continues to exist there.”
Oeil returned to the stage in 2024 for the first time in nearly eight years, opening for Blushing's Japan show. Since then, they have supported touring acts such as Zack Zack Zack and Buzz Kull, steadily expanding their live activity.
With the release of their new album, the band is expected to enter a more active phase going forward.
