Pelagic Records Announces Compilation Album “The Dungeon Tapes”—Latest Single Is a Cover of My Bloody Valentine's “Soon”
Pelagic Records has announced the release of its label compilation The Dungeon Tapes, unveiling the first single: a cover of My Bloody Valentine's “Soon” by Pelagic United and Friends.
Pelagic United and Friends is a special collaborative project bringing together members of Spotlights, Rosetta, Failure, Shy Low, and Hiroe. Their take on My Bloody Valentine's seminal “Soon” reimagines the classic track through a distinctly darker lens — retaining the floating, ethereal quality intrinsic to shoegaze while pushing into heavier, more visceral territory. The result is a strikingly direct and emotionally raw interpretation, one that carries real weight without losing the spaciousness of the original.
Also appearing on The Dungeon Tapes are such esteemed groups as The Ocean Collective, PSYCHONAUT, Lost in Kyiv, Pothamus, Gösta Berlings Saga, Telepathy, and Spook The Horses. With additional artists now confirmed, the compilation will be released as a double LP.
Physical release is August 28th, with the digital edition following on September 18th, via Pelagic Records.
