Ghostly Kisses Release the Music Video for Their New Single “Strangers”—A Dream Pop Track Portraying the Evolving Distance Between Two People Over Time Apart

Canada-based dream pop duo Ghostly Kisses, based in Montreal, have released the music video for their new single “Strangers.”

The project, led by Margaux Sauvé and Louis-Étienne Santais, is known for its delicate portrayal of emotional fluctuation, and this marks their first new release since the 2024 album Darkroom.

Built around soft vocals, intricate guitar work, and piano harmonies, the track is layered with a restrained rhythmic pulse, portraying a relationship in which two people reunite only to find they have become “strangers” to one another. According to Margaux, the song originated from a feeling she experienced after returning from tour, when she felt different, while everything around her stayed the same.

Lyrically, the song traces the quiet dissolution of intimacy, as someone once close gradually becomes a stranger. The recurring lines “No, you’re not the same since you went away / And I’m not the same since you went away” underline the irreversible shift that distance has created, culminating in the refrain “We’re strangers now,” which frames both solitude and emotional separation.

Overall, “Strangers” stands as a melancholic dream pop piece characteristic of Ghostly Kisses’ refined and atmospheric approach.
