DECEITS unveil the video for “Please, Wake Up” – a gothic love story of fading devotion
Los Angeles-based post-punk duo DECEITS released the music video for their 2025 single “Please, Wake Up.”
Formed in late 2021 by Kevin Moreno (Vocals, Instruments) and Francisco Saenz (Drums, Percussions), the band debuted with the album “If There’s No Heaven…” in 2023, followed by a successful U.S. tour and a 2025 appearance at Cruel World, marking a notable presence in the contemporary post-punk and darkwave scene.
“Please, Wake Up” features shimmering guitar tones reminiscent of The Cure, paired with passionate vocals that convey longing and obsession over a love fading away. The repeated cry of “Please wake up” pierces through, creating a visceral emotional impact. Departing from colder, more mechanical post-punk sounds, the track blends emotional resonance with catchy hooks, potentially appealing to fans of visual kei, dream pop, and shoegaze.
