CIGARETTE in your bed Unveils the Video for “Melted Summer Days”—Cursing the Burning Summer with ‘Bad Dream Pop’

Tokyo-based shoegaze band CIGARETTE in your bed has released the lyric video for their new single “Melted Summer Days” on YouTube and across social media platforms.

The three-piece consisting of Kazuya Saijo (guitar/vocals), Chihirö (bass), and Jo (drums) has developed a heavy sound blending noise and grunge under their self-styled “Heelgaze.” With this release, they take a step into dream pop, exploring new sonic territory. Kazuya’s mellow vocals merge with Chihirö’s whispering tones, creating melodies that are dreamy yet carry a subtle sense of unease and ennui. Rather than depicting glittering summer scenes, the track conveys frustration: Ice cream melts. Beer gets lukewarm. My hair curls. Uh, Pissed off. The refrain, “I want summer to be over,” is quintessentially them, resonating strongly with listeners after this year’s record-breaking heat.

Additionally, Chihirö will host the live event “FUZZY MOON -Phase02 / Abyss Moon” on Monday, December 8, 2025, at WildSide Tokyo (Shinjuku / Shinjuku Sanchome).
